Garra is the ceramic practice of Kimberley Peek, a Dutch-Nicaraguan artist living and working in Lisbon, Portugal. Her work explores the natural world and the body through animals, flowers, mythology, and folklore. Working primarily in clay and incorporating materials such as thread and metal, she creates organic, often spiked forms that move between the familiar and the strange, the delicate and the threatening, blooming and rotting.

Kimberley has a background in medical microbiology and epidemiology, which has shaped her fascination with the body, nature, growth, and decay. Her practice navigates the tension between softness and hardness, something she sees as deeply integral to the lived experience of being a woman.
